Abstract:

This filter setting method comprises the steps of: measuring an impulse response of a room in which a speaker is placed; extracting the rear reverberation component of the measured impulse response; detecting the difference between the frequency-amplitude characteristic of the extracted rear reverberation component and a predetermined target characteristic; generating a filter factor indicating the frequency response having an amplification or attenuation in accordance with the difference; and setting the filter factor to a filter used for processing sound signals that are to be supplied to the speaker.
