Title:
FELTING NEEDLE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/230450
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a felting needle that is not susceptible to reduction in the ability to hold fibers even when used continuously, that is to say, not susceptible to reduction in the ability to intertwine fibers. Provided is a felting needle 10 in which barbs 20 are formed on the surface of a blade 12, wherein overhang shapes, which project laterally as the upper edge is approached, are formed on both side surfaces 22 of the barbs 20. As a result, fibers 50 can be held by the side surfaces 22 of the barbs 20 rather than the front surface 21 of the barbs 20 as in the past. That is to say, fibers 50 can be held without relying on an overhang shape of the front surface 21 of the barbs 20 that is most susceptible to wear.
