An expansion joint construction structure, comprising a preformed joint (110) with embedded steel bars (130) being provided on two sides of the preformed joint (110), wherein the embedded steel bars (130) are arranged in a preformed groove (120); and the preformed groove (120) is covered with a dust cover, the total length of the dust cover being the same as the length of the preformed joint (110). The dust cover is arranged in the preformed groove (120) to protect the embedded steel bars (130) and the preformed joint (110), such that concrete will not enter the preformed groove (120) to block the preformed joint (110) and cover the embedded steel bars (130) during a concrete pouring and paving process. In an installation process for an expansion device, only a corresponding pavement structure (140) needs to be cut, and there is no need for special cleaning of the preformed groove (120), which will not damage the embedded steel bars (130), thereby greatly improving the construction efficiency of the expansion joint and also improving the construction quality of the expansion joint.
