Abstract:
A method for correcting loss of chest compression depth of a patient, according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: a) after setting a value of a chest compression start position for a patient to start chest compression of the patient with the lower end of a piston positioned on the upper side of the chest of the patient, expanding or contracting, by a control unit, the piston to move the lower end of the piston to the chest compression start position according to the value of the chest compression start position for the patient; b) applying, by the control unit, an initial chest compression depth value, which is a movement length value of the piston from the chest compression start position toward the upper side of a support plate supporting the back of the patient, and a chest compression depth threshold value, expanding and contracting the piston such that chest compression is performed, and detecting a change in the shape of the chest of the patient while chest compression is in progress, so as to update the chest compression start position for the patient; c) comparing and determining, by the control unit, a sum of a separation distance between a cap fastened to the lower end of the piston and the chest of the patient and the initial chest compression depth value with the chest compression depth threshold value; and d) expanding and contracting the piston to allow the cap to reciprocate according to the initial or updated chest compression depth value, such that chest compression is performed by the cap.
