Abstract:
The present invention is an electronic device comprising a coin handling device, wherein: a coin insertion slot (20) for receiving the insertion of coins has a plate-like protective cover (1) attached thereto, to prevent the intrusion of foreign matter other than coins; the protective cover (1) has a cutout (2) of a size allowing a prescribed number of coins to pass therethrough simultaneously; and the surface shape of a cutout peripheral section adjacent to the cutout (2) of the protective cover (1) or the surface shape of the protective cover (1) is formed into a shape that allow a liquid that falls onto the protective cover (1) to be drained. For example, for the shape enabling the drainage of liquid, a drainage groove for draining liquid to the outside of the protective cover (1) is formed, in the peripheral cutout section, along an edge of the peripheral cutout section which is positioned opposite the cutout (2). Due to this configuration, provided is an electronic device is provided that enables a reduction in the risk of foreign matter, including liquids such as water, invading the coin insertion slot.
