Abstract:

An embodiment of the present disclosure provides a method for supporting Wi-Fi P2P-based device discovery between electronic devices that support Wi-Fi, and an electronic device that supports same. The electronic device may comprise a first communication circuit configured to support D2D communication, a second communication circuit configured to support OOB communication, and a processor. The processor may sense initiation of a service. The processor may, on the basis of initiation of the service, configure a discovery protocol for each of multiple frequency bands related to discovery, using the first communication circuit, an external electronic device for which the service is to be performed. The processor may transmit a discovery mode start message via the second communication circuit. The processor may discover at least one external electronic device via the first communication circuit on the basis of the protocol corresponding to each of the multiple frequency bands. The processor may determine, as a service target device, one of the at least one discovered external electronic device. The processor may perform a procedure of connecting to the external electronic device determined as the service target device.
