Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an electronic cycle sewing machine capable of performing sewing without using conventional jigs at the time of sewing a member, such as a rubber belt, onto a base while creating slack. [Solution] This electronic cycle sewing machine comprises: a sewing needle driving means 20 that makes a sewing needle 3 move up and down; a moving means 21 that enables a rubber belt 10 to move freely on a fixing table 5 by being held by a holding frame 4; a controlling means 22 that controls driving of the moving means 21 and the sewing needle driving means 20 on the basis of sewing data defining stitch-by-stitch needle landing positions of the sewing needle 3 or stitch-by-stitch movement amounts of an object being sewn for forming a desired sewing pattern; and a sandwiching mechanism 8 for the rubber belt 10, the sandwiching mechanism sandwiching a given length of a rearwardly extending portion of the rubber belt 10 in a state where an end of the rubber belt 10 is arranged immediately below the needle landing position of the sewing needle 3, wherein when the object being sewn, which is held by the holding frame 4, is moved forward and rearward by the moving means 21, the sandwiching mechanism does not follow said movement.
