Abstract:
An electronic candle (1), having a recess (9) is formed with an opening in the top end so as to resemble a pillar candle that has burnt for a considerable time. The recess defines inner recess walls (11) and an inner recess bottom surface (13). An electric light source such as a LED (15) is arranged in the recess bottom surface (13). A contactless control arrangement is provided, controlling the electric light source (15), comprising a transmitter (17), transmitting electromagnetic or acoustic waves, and a receiver (19), receiving reflected waves. The transmitter (17) and the receiver (19) are located in the recess bottom surface (13), such that waves reflected from an object located directly above the recess opening are received.
