Provided is a dust seal having an improved durability. A dust seal 50 inhibits the penetration of foreign matter by sealing a ring-shaped gap between a housing and a shaft that moves reciprocally relative to the housing. The dust seal 50 is characterized by being provided with a seal lip 72 that is made from an elastic body, slidably touches the outer peripheral surface of the shaft, and is disposed on the inner peripheral face side of the dust seal 50 via a ring-shaped groove 71 that opens to the sealing target fluid side. The dust seal 50 is further characterized in that the tip of the seal lip 72 is provided with a first inclined face 72a, the diameter of which increases when approaching the sealing target fluid side, and a second inclined face 72b, the diameter of which increases when approaching the side opposite the sealing target fluid side, wherein the inclination angle α2 of the second inclined face 72b is greater than the inclination angle α1 of the first inclined face 72a.
