A door opening/closing device 10 includes a setting unit 34 that sets, on the basis of first distances Md1, Md2 measured by a measurement unit 32, at least a section of one of a first detection region 16A and a second detection region 16B as a start area 35 for detecting first steps Sm1a, Sm2a among setting operations Sm1, Sm2 performed by a detection target 7, and the setting unit also sets a section of the other of the first detection region 16A and the second detection region 16B as a trigger area 36 for detecting second steps Sm1b, Sm2b among the setting operations Sm1, Sm2. A control unit 30 opens/closes a door 2 by means of a drive unit 28 when it is determined, due to a change in the distances Md1, Md2 measured by the measurement unit 32, that the detection target 7 has performed the setting operations Sm1, Sm2 including movement between the start area 35 and the trigger area 36.
