Abstract:
A signal processing device for creating as natural a display video as possible
with as high a quality as possible from the received signal of digital broadcast
provided by simulcast. The signal processing device comprises a first decoder
for performing motion compensation prediction by analyzing a first coded bit
stream, acquiring a syntax element, and using the syntax element for the motion
compensation prediction, a second decoder for performing motion compensation
prediction by analyzing a second coded bit stream, acquiring a syntax element,
and using the syntax element for the motion compensation prediction, and a syntax
element converting section for converting the syntax element acquired by the
second decoder into a syntax element adapted to the image format of the first coded
bit stream. In response to detection of an error the first decoder performs motion
compensation prediction by using the syntax element acquired by the conversion
by the syntax element converting section in place of the syntax element acquired
by the first decoder.
