Abstract:
According to various embodiments of the present disclosure, provided is a method for operating a display device comprising the steps of: outputting a test video through a display panel of the display device; receiving, from a camera device configured to photograph the outputted test video, graph information of luminance detected by the camera device for the number of camera pixels of the camera device in relation to the test video, wherein the x-axis of the graph is the number of camera pixels and the y-axis of the graph is the value of luminance, and the graph consists of a first portion consisting of only a rise slope before an overshoot occurs, and a second portion that combines the rise slope and an overshoot slope; determining a first gradient value for the rise slope in the first portion of the graph; determining a second gradient value for the combination of the rise slope and the overshoot slope in the second portion of the graph; determining a third gradient value for the overshoot slope by subtracting the first gradient value from the second gradient value; determining an LH value of a first basic luminance on the basis of the third gradient value; determining an overshoot value related to the overshoot on the basis of the LH value; determining an overdrive value related to the overshoot on the basis of the overshoot value; and performing overdrive by means of a display driver of the display device on the basis of the overdrive value.
