A detection element according to one embodiment of the present invention is provided with: exposed electrodes which include at least a first exposed electrode, a second exposed electrode that is arranged in a first direction of the first exposed electrode, a third exposed electrode that is arranged in a second direction of the first exposed electrode, and a fourth exposed electrode that is arranged in the second direction of the second exposed electrode and in the first direction of the third exposed electrode; a first electrode pattern which includes at least a pattern that is connected to the first exposed electrode and the second exposed electrode and a pattern that is connected to the third exposed electrode and the fourth exposed electrode; a second electrode pattern which includes at least a pattern that is arranged so as to extend in the second direction; and a third electrode pattern which includes at least a pattern that is arranged so as to extend in the third direction, so that the first electrode pattern is sandwiched between the third electrode pattern and the first and fourth exposed electrodes.
