Abstract:
There is provided a DC-to-DC power converter 100, comprising: first and second input terminals 101, 102 for coupling to a DC power supply; a plurality of DC-to-AC power converter modules 110, each of which comprises first and second DC input nodes 111, 112 configured to receive DC power and first and second AC output nodes 115, 116 configured to supply AC power, wherein the first and second DC input nodes 111, 112 are electrically connected in series between the first input terminal 101 and the second input terminal 102; one or more AC-to-DC power converter modules 120, each of which comprises a plurality of AC input nodes 121 configured to receive AC power and first and second DC output nodes 125, 126 configured to supply DC power; first and second output terminals 105, 106 for supplying DC power, wherein the first and second output terminals 105, 106 are electrically connected to the first and second DC output nodes 125, 126 respectively; a plurality of transformers 130 electrically coupled between the plurality of DC-to-AC power converter modules 110 and the one or more AC-to-DC power converter modules 120, wherein at least one of the plurality of transformers 130 comprises a single primary winding 131 electrically coupled between the first and second AC output nodes 115, 116 of one of the plurality of DC-to-AC power converter modules 110 and a single secondary winding 135 inductively coupled to the single primary winding 131 and electrically coupled to one or more of the plurality of AC input nodes 121 of the one or more AC-to-DC power converter modules 120.
