Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to produce cyclobutene containing a halogen atom with a high conversion ratio (yield) and high selectivity. This method, for producing the cyclobutene represented in general formula (1) (in the formula, X1, X2, X3 and X4 are the same or different, and represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or a perfluoroalkyl group. Y represents a halogen atom), involves a step for subjecting the cyclobutane represented by general formula (2) (in the formula, X1, X2, X3, X4 and Y are as described above. X5 and X6 are the same or different and represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, or a perfluoroalkyl group) to a desorption reaction, wherein the desorption reaction step is performed in the presence of a base, in a closed reaction system, or, the desorption reaction step is performed with the reaction temperature greater than or equal to 20°C, the reaction pressure greater than or equal to 0 kPa, and in the presence of a base.
