Abstract:
A cutting device (1000), comprising a cutting system (1), which comprises a motor (211) for providing power for the cutting system; a cutting assembly (10), which comprises a cutting member (120) and a protective cover (110) at least partially surrounding the cutting member, wherein the cutting member is driven by the motor to rotate; and a first handle (30), which is provided with a switch assembly (310) for controlling the motor to switch states, wherein when the switch assembly is in a first state, the cutting system is powered off and the protective cover is positioned in a first position; and when the switch assembly is in a second state, the cutting system is started and the protective cover is positioned in a second position. Further provided is a control method for a cutting device. The cutting device further comprises a sensing element and a controller, wherein the controller determines the position of the protective cover (110) according to position information when the controller detects that the switch assembly switches from the first state to the second state; the controller starts the cutting system when the protective cover is positioned in the second position; and when the protective cover is positioned in the first position and the switch assembly (310) switches to the second state, the controller controls the cutting system to not start. The cutting device links the protective cover with a switch, so that the safety of starting the cutting system is improved, and an operator can be effectively prevented from being accidentally injured.
