Abstract:
Provided is a cutlery sharpener for sharpening the blade edge of cutlery, wherein the blade edge can be effectively sharpened regardless of the user's proficiency level, etc. The cutlery sharpener for sharpening the blade edge of cutlery is configured to comprise: a motor; a sharpening element; a support element that supports the motor and the sharpening element; a base; elastic members; a first guide part; a second guide part; and a cover. In a plane containing a first contact point of the first guide part and a second contact point of the second guide part, a conical surface of a first section of the sharpening element and a conical surface of a second section thereof are located. With a blade edge being in contact with the first contact point, the second contact point, the conical surface of the first section, and the conical surface of the second section, the elastic members are provided so as to apply to the blade edge an urging force which is in a direction away from the first contact point and the second contact point. The second guide part is formed by arranging two columnar sharpening media, each being of a grit finer than that of the sharpening element, so as to intersect each other in an acute-angle form.
