Abstract:
Embodiment herein provides a cooking apparatus capable of segmenting at least one food item from background. The cooking apparatus includes a thermal-imaging sensor configured to obtain a thermal image of a space within the cooking apparatus. The cooking apparatus includes at least one processor configured to execute at least one instruction to access the thermal image (105) obtained by the thermal-imaging sensor, segment at least one food item from a background in the space, based on the accessed thermal image, and obtain a segmentation mask image based on a segmentation result.
