Abstract:
A control device for controlling a rolling device including a pair of rolls provided to sandwich a metal plate therebetween is provided with: a first plate end detection unit provided on the entry side of the pair of rolls in the conveying direction of the metal plate, the first plate end detection unit being configured to detect a plate end position on the metal plate in the plate width direction at a first position in the conveying direction; a second plate end detection unit provided on the exit side of the pair of rolls in the conveying direction, the second plate end detection unit being configured to detect a plate end position on the metal plate in the plate width direction at a second position in the conveying direction; and a determination unit configured to determine whether to start end-tensionless rolling on the basis of the first plate end position on the metal plate detected by the first plate end detection unit and the second plate end position on the metal plate detected by the second plate end detection unit, the end-tensionless rolling being rolling of the metal plate with the pair of rolls in a state where the exit-side tension on the metal plate is zero.
