Abstract:
This control device determines whether the importance of an update of software of a travel control electronic control unit (ECU) controlling the travel of a mobile body is greater than or equal to a predetermined value if a request to update the software is made when the mobile body is travelling in a conventional travel mode by the travel control ECU. If the importance of the software update is greater than or equal to the predetermined value, the control device controls the mobile body to be able to travel in a temporary travel mode in which the mobile body is caused to travel in a manner different from the conventional travel mode by the travel control ECU. Then, the control device updates the software of the travel control ECU while control by the temporary travel mode is being executed.
