Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, treating, or ameliorating a neurodegenerative disorder, comprising an Allium senescens extract as an active ingredient. The composition of the present invention reduces the level of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in nerve cells, protects the mitochondrial activity of nerve cells, and inhibits mitochondrial apoptosis of nerve cells, and thus, the composition may be utilized to prevent, treat, or ameliorate a neurodegenerative disorder.
