Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention relates to: a composition containing particles having a refractive index of 1.8 or greater, a polymer compound expressed by formula (1), and a solvent; a liquid crystal film, a film, or a display device in which the composition is used; and a dispersant containing a polymer compound expressed by formula (1). Formula (1), as a whole, has one or more mesogenic structures, and m+n satisfies 2 to 10. A1 represents a monovalent group having at least one group selected from the group consisting of acid groups, urea groups, urethane groups, groups having a coordinating oxygen atom, groups having a basic nitrogen atom, phenol groups, alkyl groups, aryl groups, groups having an alkyleneoxy chain, imide groups, alkyloxycarbonyl groups, alkylaminocarbonyl groups, carboxylate groups, sulfonamide groups, heterocyclic groups, alkoxysilyl groups, epoxy groups, isocyanate groups, and hydroxyl groups, and P1 represents a polymer chain.
