Abstract:
The present invention provides a composition for inhibiting the growth or maturation of a plant, which contains a high-molecular-weight ethylene-adsorbing component derived from a plant body. The present invention also provides a composition for inhibiting the growth or maturation of a plant, which contains a high-molecular-weight ethylene-adsorbing component, in which the ethylene-adsorbing component is polyphenol. The present invention also provides a method for producing a composition for inhibiting the growth or maturation of a plant, which includes the steps of: producing an extract of a plant body; and fractionating a high-molecular-weight ethylene-adsorbing component from the extract.
