Abstract:
A composite deposition method for a hard oxide coating, and a coated cutting tool. The coated cutting tool comprises a cutting tool base body and a hard oxide coating; the hard oxide coating comprises multiple cathodic arc evaporation oxide layers and multiple magnetron sputtering oxide layers that are alternately deposited; the cathodic arc evaporation oxide layers contain Cr and O, and the magnetron sputtering oxide layers contain Al and O. A hard oxide coating is prepared by using a cathodic arc evaporation/magnetron sputtering composite deposition mode, which takes the characteristics of a fast deposition rate and a high ionization rate of the cathodic arc evaporation technology and the characteristic of few liquid droplets of the magnetron sputtering technology into account, thereby significantly improving the surface quality of the hard oxide coating and improving the hardness and compactness of the coating; coherent interfaces are generated between the cathodic arc evaporation oxide layers and the magnetron sputtering oxide layers, and a template effect of the cathodic arc evaporation oxide layers prompts the crystallization of the magnetron sputtering oxide layers, thereby improving the mechanical properties of the coated cutting tool.
