Abstract:
A communication method and apparatus. The method comprises: a terminal receives a reference signal from an access network device; the terminal determines, according to the received power of the reference signal and a first set, the number of repetitions of the terminal sending a random access preamble, wherein the first set is a set of the numbers of times the terminal repeatedly sends the random access preamble, and the first set at least comprises one or more of the following elements: an integer multiple of 3, an integer multiple of 5, or an integer multiple of 7; the terminal repeatedly sends the random access preamble to the access network device on a random access opportunity RO according to the number of repetitions. In the present application, elements in a set of the numbers of times a terminal repeatedly sends a random access preamble comprise an integer multiple of 3, an integer multiple of 5, or an integer multiple of 7, etc., so that the set of the numbers of times the terminal repeatedly sends the random access preamble matches a TDD configuration.
