Embodiments of the present application provide a movement path updating method and apparatus. When a movement path of a terminal device is updated, indication information that the movement path has been updated or the updated movement path can be reported to an access network device in time, so that the access network device can obtain in time the information that the movement path has been updated, thereby optimizing network configurations.
