Provided are a coloring material dispersion liquid for a color filter capable of forming a coating film having high luminance and excellent light resistance, a color resin composition for a color filter capable of forming a coating film having high luminance and excellent light resistance, a coloring material that is capable of forming a coating film with high luminance and that also excels in light resistance, a color filter having high contrast and high luminance, a liquid crystal display apparatus and a light emitting display apparatus comprising the color filter. The coloring material dispersion liquid for a color filter comprises a (A) coloring material, a (B) dispersion agent, and a (C) solvent, wherein the (A) coloring material comprises a cerium lake coloring material of an acid dye.
