Abstract:
A color matching system is installed in, for example, an image display and performs color conversion matching the color characteristic of the display device. For the image data created when an application is run, a graphics interface such as the GDI issues an image drawing instruction, and display image data is created according to the image drawing instruction. Color conversion of the display image data is performed by a color management module, the color space is adjusted according to a color attribute file representing the color characteristic of the display, and the data is supplied to the display. Thus, display image data matching the color reproducibility of the display is displayed on the display. The color conversion for color matching is conducted not by the application but by the color management module on the hardware dependent part such of the OS. Therefore, adequate color matching is conducted without cognizance on the application side.
