Abstract:
A coin identification device according to the present disclosure comprises a control unit configured to: generate a first reflection image of a coin illuminated with first light and a second reflection image of the coin illuminated with second light having a wavelength band different from that of the first light; calculate at least one ratio out of a ratio A between an output value of the center part of the first reflection image and an output value of the center part of the second reflection image and a ratio B between an output value of the peripheral part in the first reflection image and an output value of the peripheral part in the second reflection image; and perform a comparison on the basis of the result of calculation to determine whether or not the coin is a bicolor coin
