Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a clothes iron having a thin and lightweight heating plate. A heating plate 21 having, on the lower surface thereof, a heating surface 22 for clothing is disposed at a bottom part of a main body 11. The heating plate 21 is provided with: a film heater 31 that has a heat-generating surface 32 at at least a lower surface thereof; and a bottom member 41 that covers at least the heat-generating surface 32 on the lower surface of the film heater 31. The bottom member 41 may be made from a ceramic containing a silicon compound, and the heating plate 21 is arranged so as to form a void space 54 between the heating plate 21 and the lower surface 17 of the main body.
