Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a cloth holding device that holds a cloth over the entire lateral width of thereof, and a cloth spreading device including this cloth holding device. [Solution] Provided is a cloth holding device for temporarily holding a cloth that is attached to a pair of insertion clamps, that is handed over to a pair of spreading clamps, and that is spread by the spreading clamps. The cloth holding device includes a plurality of cloth holding parts. Before handing over the cloth from the pair of insertion clamps to the pair of spreading clamps, cloth holding parts, of the plurality of cloth holding parts, disposed in a right direction with respect to the pair of insertion clamps move in the right direction, and the remaining cloth holding parts, of the plurality of cloth holding parts, disposed in a left direction with respect to the pair of insertion clamps are moved in the left direction, thereby forming an opening.
