A chassis (100) for an electric vehicle (10), comprising a left side frame (110L) and a right side frame (110R) made of a material comprising carbon fibre, at least one lower structural member (120) connected with and extending across the left side frame (110L) and the right side frame (110R), and a plurality of upper structural members (130) connected with and extending across the left side frame (110L) and the right side frame (110R). The lower structural member (120) provides support for one or more rechargeable battery packs (B1/B2).
