Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a roller chain made of stainless steel, wherein pin end parts of coupling pins at opposing positions orthogonal to an intermittent conveyance direction, in which outer link plates are intermittently conveyed in succession to a riveter, are pressed and riveted to couple a pair of the outer link plates, but the accumulation of internal stress at a hole edge where the pressing occurs is suppressed, and cracking, brittle fracturing, and the like hardly occur. [Solution] A chain provided with tapered surfaces 8 at a plurality of locations on outer hole edges of coupling-pin-insertion coupling holes 6 of an outer link plate 5, the tapered surfaces 8 having a shape in which a right-angled corner edge, formed by a straight hole, is chamfered. The tapered surfaces 8 are provided at two riveting positions opposing in a transverse direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the outer link plate 5.
