Abstract:
Provided is a card reader which is capable of generating a complex interference magnetic field by means of an interference magnetic field generation mechanism while being capable of increasing the range affected by the interference magnetic field generated by the interference magnetic field generation mechanism. In this card reader, an interference magnetic field generation mechanism 11 is provided with: linear core parts 14a, 14b, and 15a, which are formed of a soft magnetic material; a coil 16 wound on the core part 14a; a coil 17 connected in series to coil 16 and wound on core part 14b; a coil 18 wound on core part 15a; a first drive circuit for supplying alternating current to coils 16 and 17; and a second drive circuit for supplying alternating current to coil 18. Core part 15a is arranged between core part 14a and core part 14b. In addition, core part 15a is formed as a separate body from core parts 14a and 14b and is separated from core parts 14a and 14b.
