Abstract:
The present invention provides, at lower cost, a buckling-restrained building material in which a predetermined amount of gap is secured between a core material and core-facing surfaces of two buckling-restrained members. Provided is a buckling-restrained building material (buckling-restrained brace 10) in which a core material 2 is sandwiched between two buckling-restrained members 1, 1, wherein a gap retaining member 18 for securing a predetermined amount of gap Δt between the core material 2 and core-facing surfaces 3d, 3d of the two buckling-restrained members 1, 1 is interposed between the two buckling-restrained members 1, 1 laterally of the core material 2, the gap retaining member 18 being configured from a bar-like base material 18a elongated in the longitudinal direction of the core material 2, and a cylindrical member 18b through which the bar-like base material 18a is inserted.
