Abstract:
Provided is a compact braking device that brakes either the automatic closing or opening movement of a movable body, such as a sliding door or a drawer, at a pause position, and then releases the braking to allow said movement. A braking device for braking either the automatic closing or opening movement of a movable body at a predetermined pause position, and then releasing the braking to allow said movement, the braking device comprising: a catcher (26) that makes contact with a trigger (28) and rotates in the braking direction (1) when the movable body performs said movement; a linear damper (32) that brakes the rotation of the catcher (26) in the braking direction (1); and a transmission unit (29, 33) that transmits the rotational force of the catcher (26) to the linear damper (32).
