The present invention relates to a battery module management system and method for accurately determining when a chemical cell in a battery module needs to be replaced and notifying same to a manager, the battery module comprising: a capacitor-based battery for supplying power to equipment to be used; and a chemical cell for charging the capacitor-based battery.
