Abstract:
Provided is a band saw in which a plastic housing is used in order to reduce the weight of a device, and in which the likelihood of a blade dislodging from a guide roller is reduced. A first guide roller mechanism 30 and a second guide roller mechanism 40 have a pair of cylindrical guide rollers that rotate while being in contact, respectively, with the outer peripheral side and the inner peripheral side of the blade 20. The tip sides of the guide rollers 31, 41 and the guide rollers corresponding to the guide rollers 31, 41 are inclined with respect to the direction in which the blade runs. As a result, a force acts on the blade in the direction opposite that in which the blade is dislodged, making it possible to stabilize the position in which the blade is running.
