Abstract:
Provided are an automobile body and a method for fabricating the same, said automobile body having both whiteness and a metallic texture. The automobile body comprises a coated matter and a multilayer coating film. The multilayer coating film is provided with a coloring coating film formed on the coated matter and containing a white pigment, a photoluminescent coating film formed on the coloring coating film and containing a photoluminescent material, and a clear coating film formed on the photoluminescent coating film. A brightness value L*45 falls within the range from 70 to 90 is attained, said brightness value being based on a spectral reflectivity obtained when light I45 irradiated to the surface of the multilayer coating film with an angle of 45° is received with an angle of 45° with respect to regularly reflected light. The ratio L*5/L*15 between a brightness value L*5 based on a spectral reflectivity obtained when the light I45 is received with an angle of 5° with respect to regularly reflected light and a brightness value L*15 based on a spectral reflectivity obtained when the light I45 is received with an angle of 15° with respect to regularly reflected light falls within the range from 1.2 to 2.5. When seen from the surface of the multilayer coating film, the occupancy of the photoluminescent material falls within the range from 10% to 30%. The granularity of the surface of the multilayer coating film falls within the range from 1.0 to 3.0.
