Abstract:
An automatic travel device (10) comprises: arms (17A, 17B); a memory (12) for storing a program; and a processor (13) for executing the program. When the automatic travel device (10) arrives at a boarding position of an escalator, the processor (13): detects movement of steps of the escalator; controls the arms (17A, 17B) so as to grab a step cleat; and once the arms have grabbed the step cleat, causes the automatic travel device (10) to advance and board the escalator.
