The present invention provides: a method for preparing asymmetric linear carbonate comprising a step of preparing an asymmetric linear carbonate by transesterifying two different symmetric linear carbonates under a metal alkoxide catalyst containing a specific metal; and an asymmetric linear carbonate comprising the metal alkoxide catalyst.
