Abstract:
Provided is an aqueous coating liquid which can form a coating film having good storage stability and good water resistance. The aqueous coating liquid is for forming a coating film provided between a current collector and an active material layer in an electrode for an electricity storage device. The aqueous coating material contains: a water-based medium comprising water; at least one polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) resin selected from the group consisting of native polyvinyl alcohols and denatured polyvinyl alcohols; an electroconductive material; and 2-phosphonobutane-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid (PBTC). Further: the aqueous coating liquid does not contain a polyacrylic acid or, even if the aqueous coating liquid contains a polyacrylic acid, a condition wherein the content of the polyacrylic acid is less than 9 mass% based on the total mass of the aqueous coating liquid is satisfied; and the ratio of the content of the PVA resin in the aqueous coating liquid to the content of the PBTC in the aqueous coating liquid is 2-100.
