Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. There is disclosed a method for restricting UE network access. The method comprises: determining whether a condition is satisfied, wherein the condition comprises one or more of: the UE does not support network verification of UE location information; and network verification of UE location information has failed. The method further comprises restricting the UE network access based on the determination. Restricting the UE network access may comprise one or more of: restricting UE access to the network entirely; restricting UE access to one or more certain PLMNs; restricting UE access to one or more certain types of PLMN (e.g. NTN PLMNs); restricting UE access to one or more certain cells; restricting UE access to one or more certain types of cell; and restricting UE access to one or more certain types of service (e.g. emergency services).
