The present invention relates to an apparatus for droplet removal and a method thereof, the apparatus comprising: a droplet detection unit that comprises an electrode part disposed on a substrate part and detects whether a droplet has occurred, according to the change in a measurement value of the electrode part disposed on the substrate part; a control unit that detects the occurrence position of a droplet and the quantity of the droplet on the basis of a real-time measurement value of the electrode part and the change in the measurement value to determine the necessity of droplet removal; and an application unit that applies voltage to the electrode part to remove a droplet according to the determination of the control unit, wherein the electrode part comprises: a base electrode part disposed on the substrate part in a predetermined pattern; and multiple individual electrode parts that are spaced a predetermined gap apart from the base electrode part and are arranged on the substrate part to have a predetermined pattern corresponding to the base electrode part, and the multiple individual electrode parts are arranged to alternate with the base electrode part to partition the substrate part into multiple areas.
