Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a manufacturing method of an annular seal member including a core and an outer layer covering the periphery of the core, the method including, in order: a pre-forming step for preparing one or more rope-shaped preforms including an uncrosslinked core formed of a core crosslinking rubber composition, and an uncrosslinked outer layer formed of an outer layer crosslinking rubber composition and covering the periphery of the uncrosslinked core; a first heat-pressing step in which the rope-shaped preform is placed in a first mold and a portion of the rope-shaped preform other than end portions is heat-pressed and formed; and a second heat-pressing step in which the two end portions of the rope-shaped preform are brought into contact, placed in a second mold, and heat-pressed and formed. According to the present invention, provided is a manufacturing method that can mass-produce, at low cost, an annular seal member comprising a core and an outer layer.
