Abstract:
Provided are an air conditioner (1) and a control method therefor. The air conditioner (1) comprises an outdoor unit (900) and an indoor unit (1000, 100A). The indoor unit (1000, 100A) is connected to the outdoor unit (900), and the indoor unit (1000, 100A) comprises a housing (100), a filter (210), a self-cleaning assembly (300) and a controller (80). The self-cleaning assembly (300) is configured to execute an automatic cleaning function, so as to remove debris on the filter (210). The controller (80) is configured to: if it is determined that the air conditioner (1) is powered on and starts to operate, acquire a continuous shutdown duration of the air conditioner (1) within the current cleaning period; if it is determined that the continuous shutdown duration is greater than a first preset time threshold value, determine whether a first preset condition is satisfied; if it is determined that the first preset condition is satisfied, control the air conditioner (1) to shut down, and control the self-cleaning assembly (300) to execute the automatic cleaning function; and after the execution of the automatic cleaning function is completed, make the air conditioner (1) enter the next cleaning period.
