Abstract:
An aerosol generation device may comprise: an accommodation space for accommodating an aerosol-generating item; a heater heating the aerosol-generating item so as to generate aerosol; a transducer for outputting an ultrasonic wave toward the accommodation space, receiving an ultrasonic wave reflected from the accommodation space, and generating an electric signal corresponding to the received ultrasonic wave; and a processor which determines, on the basis of an electric signal generated by the transducer, the type of aerosol-generating item accommodated in the accommodation space, and which controls the operation of the heater on the basis of the determined type of the aerosol-generating item.
