Abstract:
The present invention provides a purification method that can provide an acid solution in which the impurity concentration has been further reduced. The present invention provides an acid solution purification method wherein a purified ion exchange resin is used. The purified ion exchange resin is obtained by bringing a mineral acid solution with a metal impurity content of 1 mg/L or less and a concentration of 5 wt% or greater into contact with an ion exchange resin to be purified, thereby purifying the same. When hydrochloric acid with a concentration of 3 wt% is passed through this purified ion exchange resin at a volume ratio of 25 times, the total metal impurity elution quantity that is eluted is 5 μg/mL-R or less. The sodium (Na), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and iron (Fe) contents of the mineral acid solution are preferably each 200 μg/L or less, and the ion exchange resin includes a styrene-type strongly acidic ion exchange resin with a grain size of 100 μm to 400 μm.
