PURPOSE: To provide an image hologram manufacturing method capable of using scattered light as reproducing light by a simple and easy manufacturing method.

CONSTITUTION: A white diffusion plate 3 and a film 4 on which a pattern is displayed are laid to overlap each other and arranged opposite to the emulsion layer surface 1b of a hologram dry plate 1a. Illuminating light is made incident on the surface of the diffusion plate 3, and the diffused light transmitted through the film is made incident on the surface of the hologram dry plate 1a as object light. The surface of the hologram dry plate 1a is irradiated with reference light from an oblique direction. This becomes a master hologram 1. The pattern is reproduced as a real image by irradiating the master hologram 1 with the phase congugate wave of the reference light which is used when the master hologram 1 is formed as the reconstructing light. The hologram dry plate 2a is arranged on the position of the actual image, or near the actual image, and then, the scattered light having a spot light source on a point P is irradiated as the reference light from the oblique direction so as to form a final hologram 2 as the image hologram.
