Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent movement of a push rod by providing a safety nut and a resin driven washer though when a circulating ball nut is worn out, there is the possibility that the push rod is almost instantaneously moved to one end by load to an actuator to damage the load.
CONSTITUTION: This linear actuator includes a driven spindle having a nut, preferably a nut 4 connected to a push rod of an actuator, and a circulating ball spindle 2. A safe indication of a worn-out circulating ball nut while projecting against damage to the construction is obtained by providing a safety nut 6 on one side of the circulating ball nut with an intermediate plastic driving washer 8 carrying projections on either face fitting into corresponding holes in the respective nuts. When the circulating ball nut is worn out, the safety nut takes over the load and the push rod is only also to reach the position of maximum retraction.
